FAQ

Common questions.

How do I score a rally?

Tap the half of the watch screen that won the rally. Their half is on top, yours is below. Rally Trace keeps the score, the server and the side, and calls the score out loud.

How do I undo?

Turn the Digital Crown back to undo a rally, and forward to put it back. When a game ends, Undo sits right next to Save game in case the last rally was wrong.

How do I fix a wrong score?

Tap the score at the top of the live screen to correct the score or the server.

Does it need my iPhone on court?

You score on the watch. Your iPhone keeps your record: games, sessions, partners, effort and heart rate. Your games sync between your iPhone and Apple Watch through your own iCloud.

What’s free and what’s Pro?

Free, always: score tracking, results (win and loss), partner records, history, sessions, Apple Health workouts and share cards. Nothing on the watch is ever behind a paywall.

Pro is an optional yearly subscription on iPhone that adds serve and receive stats, trends over months, and effort insights. The price is shown in the app before you subscribe. In the beta, Pro is unlocked for everyone. Compare Free and Pro.

How do I cancel or manage Pro?

On your iPhone, open Settings › your name › Subscriptions. Renews automatically; cancel any time in Settings at least a day before it renews.

How do I restore a purchase?

Tap Restore on the Pro screen in Rally Trace.

How do I delete my data?

Delete a game in Rally Trace and it’s removed from your devices and your iCloud. To remove everything, delete the app from your iPhone and Apple Watch, and remove Rally Trace’s data in Settings › your name › iCloud › Manage Account Storage. Health data Rally Trace saved stays in Health until you delete it there.

What Health data does it use and why?

With your permission, Rally Trace reads your heart rate, resting heart rate, active energy and date of birth from Apple Health to show effort and heart rate for each game, and saves each session to Health as a pickleball workout with heart rate and active energy.

Heart rate stays in Apple Health and on your iPhone; Rally Trace never stores it in iCloud. You choose what it may read and write in the Health app, and can change that at any time. Health data is never used for advertising or shared with anyone. Read the privacy policy.

How do I turn off motion sharing in the beta?

In the iPhone app, go to Me › Beta › Share motion recordings and turn it off. Sharing is optional and is only in TestFlight beta builds.
